I WANT MY MUMMY… Pretzel Sticks

Pretzel-1Looking out the window of my parent’s home, I noticed the houses I pass everyday have suddenly become creepier. I get an eerie feeling something or someone is going to jump out from behind a tombstone. Perhaps someone is peeping out the frosted windows filled with ghosts and ghouls. Or maybe our neighbors are simply preparing us for Halloween? Yes, Halloween, the time of year Southern Belles set aside their prim and proper style and grace and pretend to be something or someone else. You can dress up as your favorite fictional character, someone you look up to, a scary creature, or a princess or cute animal.  Whatever costume you choose, Hallow’s Eve snacks should be kid friendly, but satisfactory for adults too. These Mummy Pretzel sticks are easy to make and fun. I made my bandages by using a fork to make lines. If your bark melts properly, you can drizzle bandages over the pretzel stick. Either way will give you the effect. Enjoy!

Ingredients:
 1 pkg white chocolate bark
1 bag of Pretzel Sticks
sprinkles and nonpareils of your choice

Directions:
Melt white chocolate bark as directed. I prefer to use a double boiler, but you can typically microwave it or melt it in a sauce pan. Once the bark has melted, drizzle or spoon chocolate over pretzel sticks until half of each stick is covered. Then, use the sprinkles and nonpareils of your choice to decorate. I used chocolate sprinkles for the eyes of my mummy pretzel sticks, but you can decorate any way you want! These can be served once the chocolate has hardened or packaged and given as gifts! Enjoy!

Pretzel-3** If you go to the Wilton/ Cake Decorating section of your local Walmart or equivilent, you can find “Pretzel Bags” that make packaging these treats easy and pretty too!
